I watched the Exodus part. It was like a weak version of the Ten Commandments with that guy who is so big in the NRA. I figure they either have to out-do the special effects of so many years ago, or donwplay the effects and go for acting. They did neither. And Jesus, from the commercials, looks awfully caucasian for an Aramaic gentleman.

I would agree. I did actually enjoy it somewhat but they did skip a bunch of stuff that’s in the Book. (I know it sounds like I’m still joking, but really there’s some stuff I wish they would have kept in.)

And yeah, J.C. looks to be very white but it is the traditional look, although he looked especially pale in the previews.

I did like the ethnic diversity of the Angels though. And the sword fight through Sodom.

I figure they toned down a lot of violence to appeal to everyone but still show enough that you understand it was a violent period but I agree, a more updated Ten Commandments would be great. Sans a Gun Wielding Moses anyway. And remember Edward G Robinson played one of the people who were against Moses…

He played mobsters. The cool mobsters from Chicago in the 30s and 40s. Yeah see.

I only saw that one bit, but the angel of death scene where they came for the first born sons was like right out of the first movie. You can never make the entire Bible into a film version. It would be a million hours long. And all those begatting chapters would give it a triple XXX rating.

lol, and numbers would be a couple of stuffy old dudes reading a giant ledger mixed in with people building the Tabernacle.

Now if they crossed Building the Tabernacle with that team that does the Home Makeover show on ABC, then we got a movie people would love.

Moses breaks down crying on the site of the Arc saying it’s more than he ever hoped for and then they surprise Aaron and his sons with the robes… “Guys, you know how you wanted to serve God more. Well you get to be the priests.”

Don’t sigh. Wouldn’t have thought of it if it weren’t for you. Nor thought it good enough for a skit if it weren’t for your approval.

You have totally spiked my stats today so the conversations weren’t all for naught.

You got something to say? Let's hear it!
